Technology Glossary Term

Security posture refers to an organization’s overall security stance or position concerning its ability to defend against and respond to cybersecurity threats and risks.

At a broader level, it encompasses the collective security measures, policies, practices, and controls implemented by an organization to protect its information assets, systems, networks, and operations from unauthorized access, breaches, and cyberattacks.

At a granular level, security posture measures can also be applied to applications to protect them from cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities throughout the application’s development lifecycle and beyond.
